About Vilma
A life dedicated to the integrity of the voice.
Sage. Artist. Activist. Three threads woven into one practice — the patient art of leading a person home to themselves.
I am a transformational therapist, intuitive guide, workshop facilitator and speaker. For over two decades I have moved between the worlds of journalism, human rights, music and inner work — never to be many things, but because the same question has lived through all of them: where does truth begin in a human being, and what does it ask of us?
My years at RDP África and with UMAR, advocating for women and children — including the European campaign to end female genital mutilation — taught me that real change requires both tenderness and rigour. Today I bring that same investigative ethic into the therapy room: a careful listening for the patterns we inherit, the cycles we repeat, and the original voice that has been waiting underneath.
I am also a professional singer and the published author of a children's collection and a volume of poetry — Histórias de Educar (Chiado Editora) among them. Voice, word and silence are not separate from the therapeutic work; they are the instruments of it.
